Sky Ranch Parent Involvement Policy

SKY RANCH ELEMENTARY

Title I Parental Involvement Policy

2024-2025

Sky Ranch Elementary has made the commitment to provide a quality education for every child and to establish strong partnerships with parents.  Shared responsibility for high student performance, frequent communication, and ongoing parental involvement are essential components for assuring academic success for our students.

Sky Ranch Elementary is required to have an annual parent meeting to inform parents of our school’s participation as a Title I site and to explain the rights of parents to be involved with their children’s education.  Sky Ranch Title I School-wide policies, programs, services, and goals will be discussed, and an informational packet will be sent home to the parents.  Information about Title I programs/activities will be communicated to parents through Class Dojo, our school website at www.mooreschools.com/skyranch, and through special notes concerning these programs and activities. A description and explanation of the curriculum, Oklahoma Academic Standards (OAS), and assessments used to monitor student progress in each grade will be offered during parent/teacher conferences, which will be held in October and in March of each school year.  Parents are strongly encouraged to attend conferences with their child’s teacher in order to participate in decisions relating to the education of their child.

A variety of parent involvement activities will be planned to respond to parent needs and help strengthen the home-school partnership connection.  Meetings will be offered at various times to accommodate parent schedules so that each parent has the opportunity for maximum participation.

A School-Parent-Student Compact will be jointly developed with parents and will be utilized in an effort to formally recognize the importance of working together as equal partners in the educational process.  It is our goal to enable each child to achieve the state’s high standards and reach his/her potential.

Communication between parents and teachers will be maintained on a continuing basis throughout the school year.  Parents are provided the opportunity and encouraged to attend conferences, receive reports on students’ academic progress, and state student assessment results.  They will be made aware of school activities and news through Class Dojo, the school website at www.mooreschools.com/skyranch, Thursday folders, marquee, and special notes.  Through scheduled planned activities, parents will have reasonable access to staff and will be given the opportunity to volunteer, observe, and participate in classroom activities.

Parents and staff will be involved in planning, reviewing, and improving the programs and services offered under the Title I School-wide plan.  Needs assessment and program evaluation surveys will be conducted in the spring of each school year and will be utilized in conjunction with our State Standardized Assessment to guide the revision of the plan for the following year.
